Monkey Jungle – Ein unvergessliches Erlebnis in der Dominikanischen Republik

If you’re looking for a unique and unforgettable experience in the Dominican Republic, you can’t miss Monkey Jungle. This 5-acre park, located in an ancient grotto, is home to over 20 free-roaming squirrel monkeys and rescued capuchin monkeys that love interacting with visitors. Additionally, Monkey Jungle offers an exciting 4,500-foot ACCT certified zip line, which includes seven stations, two suspended bridges, and a free-fall belay device that drops you over 50 feet into an ancient bat cave. In this article, we’ll explore Monkey Jungle’s attractions, rules and regulations, and booking terms and conditions, so you can make the most out of your visit.

Monkey Jungle: An Up-Close Encounter with Squirrel and Capuchin Monkeys

At Monkey Jungle, visitors can enjoy a close-up encounter with free-roaming squirrel monkeys, one of the most active and social monkey species. Upon arrival, an expert will explain the safety and rules for interacting with the monkeys. Then, you’ll be able to meet these adorable creatures, who often sit on visitors’ shoulders, heads, and even eat from specially installed plates. This is a unique opportunity to get great pictures and enjoy the scenery.

After visiting the squirrel monkeys, you can move on to the next enclosure, where rescued capuchin monkeys live. These monkeys have been physically abused or starved before, so visitors can only watch them play and fool around. However, the stories of how these monkeys ended up in Monkey Jungle will be told, making this experience both entertaining and educational.

To ensure the safety of the monkeys and visitors, Monkey Jungle has specific rules and regulations that must be followed. For example, visitors experiencing cold or flu symptoms are not allowed to enter the jungle, as monkeys have no natural resistance to human viruses, and they can be deadly to them. Additionally, pregnant women and children under the age of six are not allowed to participate in the monkey jungle experience. All minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian, and completion of a waiver/release form is required. Closed-toe shoes are also required, and it’s best to wear sneakers. Please do not apply sunscreen or bug spray one hour before entering the Jungle.

Zip Line Adventure: Thrills and Adrenaline in an Ancient Bat Cave

If you’re looking for even more excitement, Monkey Jungle offers a 4,500-foot ACCT certified zip line adventure. This adventure includes seven stations, two suspended bridges, and a free-fall belay device that drops you over 50 feet into an ancient bat cave. All equipment, including harnesses and helmets, will be provided, and a safety briefing will take place before the tour starts. For people who feel insecure, a helper can be assigned for a small extra fee.

The zip line adventure is suitable for children aged six and above, and persons in good physical condition. Pregnant women are not allowed to participate in the zip line adventure, and completion of a waiver/release form is required. Closed-toe shoes are also required, and it’s recommended to wear pants or long shorts. Escorts are available for persons of all ages.
